Coopération Tchad-Émirats Arabes Unis : Le Sénat ratifie l'accord de protection des investissements

The strengthening of economic ties between N'Djamena and Abu Dhabi has reached a decisive stage. This Friday, December 19, 2025, under the leadership of Dr. Haroun Kabadi, the Senate officially adopted the draft law ratifying the agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.

A secure legal framework for investors

This text (Ordinance No. 012/PR/2025) has the primary objective of securing financial flows and reassuring economic operators in both nations. By establishing a climate of trust, this agreement aims to:

  1. Stimulate bilateral economic exchanges .
  2. To offer solid legal guarantees to foreign investors.
  3. Facilitating the establishment of Emirati companies in Chad and vice versa.

A massive vote in the upper house

The session, held in the presence of the Secretary of State for Finance and Budget, Mr. Ali Djadda Kampard, demonstrated broad political consensus. The election results reflect strong support for the country's openness strategy.

(Note: Although the original text mentions 90.9%, the exact calculation based on 65 registered voters gives 92.3% of the votes cast).

Towards a sustainable strategic partnership

This ratification is not merely an administrative formality; it symbolizes Chad's ambition to diversify its economic partners and attract strategic capital from the Gulf. This new legal framework should, in the short term, foster the emergence of new infrastructure and development projects within the country.
