Finale PSG-Lyon à Abidjan : Le choc des reines au cœur du "Félicia"
This is the event that has Ivory Coast buzzing right now: the final of the French Women's League Cup . For a historic first, this competition is being held outside of France to crown its champion in Africa, on the legendary pitch of the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny (the "Félicia"), located in Plateau.
Under the leadership of its president, Yacine Idriss Diallo , the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has gone all out. The objective is clear: to transform this gala match into a memorable celebration. To guarantee a vibrant atmosphere befitting Côte d'Ivoire's reputation as a "hot country," the FIF chartered buses from several districts of Abidjan to transport supporters free of charge. Training centers and local women's clubs were also invited in large numbers to attend the event.
Having arrived in Abidjan on Thursday, March 12, the players from Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais embarked on a veritable social and cultural marathon:
While Lyon are statistically the favorites, their captain Wendie Renard is urging caution. During the press conference this Friday, March 13th, she emphasized the Paris Saint-Germain team's return to form:
"We know what to expect. PSG has regained its collective confidence. This is the first edition of this new format, we want to add the club's name to the list of winners, but it will require enormous effort."
The match will kick off this Saturday at 5:00 PM GMT . Between local fervor and international talent, the Félicia stadium is preparing to witness a historic moment in women's sport.
