France: Drame aérien en Ariège : quatre jeunes victimes dans l'écrasement d'un avion de tourisme
Four people died on Sunday in the Ariège department (southwest France) following the crash of a small tourist plane . The information was confirmed by the French Ministry of Transport.
The victims are an instructor and three student pilots from the National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC), all very young, aged 18 to 25, the ministry detailed in a statement published on Monday.
The aircraft, a DR400 , crashed late in the day while on approach to the Saint-Girons – Antichan airfield (Ariège). The flight, which was a private one, claimed the lives of all four occupants, according to the same official source.
The public prosecutor's office was immediately notified and an investigation was opened to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragic accident.
