Haïti : le FBI déjoue un complot terrifiant visant à renverser l’île de la Gonâve
A plot of extreme brutality has just been uncovered in the United States: two young Americans, aged 20 and 21, have been arrested after planning a deadly attack on the Haitian island of Gonâve. Their ultimate goal: to take total control of the territory and eliminate part of its population.
According to the indictment, the plan allegedly began in August 2024. The two suspects, Gavin Weisenburg (21 years old) and Tanner Thomas (20 years old), set out to build an "army" by recruiting homeless people on the streets of Washington, D.C.
They also had:
-bought a boat to transport their group to Haiti,
-acquired weapons of war and explosives,
-attended Haitian Creole classes to communicate locally,
-one of them benefited from military training linked to the US Air Force in order to acquire the skills necessary for the operation.
Their plan was nothing less than an attempted armed coup against Gonâve, an island of approximately 87,000 inhabitants.
The intentions of the two men are beyond comprehension. According to court documents, they planned to:
-to kill all the men on the island ,
-to reduce women and children to sexual slavery ,
-to take political and territorial control of Gonâve .
The plot also involved the production and distribution of child pornography, further aggravating the list of crimes they are accused of.
US authorities intercepted the plan before it could be carried out. The two individuals were arrested after several months of federal investigation, just as their preparations were taking a dangerously concrete turn.
They are now charged with:
-conspiracy to kidnap and kill abroad,
-terrorist plot,
-arms trafficking,
-production of child pornography.
If the charges are confirmed, they face life imprisonment .
While Haiti is already experiencing a severe security and political crisis, this affair reveals an unexpected and extremely serious external threat. The vulnerable and isolated island of Gonâve could have become the scene of a massacre unprecedented in the country's recent history.
