Corruption : 5 ans de prison pour l'adjudant filmé sur TikTok
The Ivorian military justice system delivered an exemplary verdict on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Adjutant DLFJL, stationed in Abobo, was sentenced to 5 years in prison after being filmed extorting money from road users.
Everything changed on February 23, 2026, on the Abobo PK18 – Paris Baguette road. During a routine check, the warrant officer intercepted a tricycle. Following a sadly well-established corruption ritual, the passengers slipped a banknote into their documents.
This was without taking into account the audacity of one of the occupants who, fed up with these practices, discreetly filmed the exchange. The video, posted on TikTok , instantly went viral, forcing the military hierarchy to react.
In the dock of the Abidjan Military Tribunal, the non-commissioned officer attempted to defend the indefensible. To justify the money he received, he cited:
These arguments carried little weight against the images. Confronted with the reality of the video, the warrant officer finally admitted to "improper conduct," in total contradiction with the code of ethics.
The Military Prosecutor's Office, relying on Articles 471, 484, and 559 of the Penal Code, demanded a firm sentence. The verdict is final.
Important note: To make an impact and deter any recurrence within the ranks, the court ordered that this conviction be posted in all barracks across the country .
This sentence sends a strong signal: the era of impunity for road racketeering seems more threatened than ever by citizen vigilance and the rigor of military justice.
