Prétendue disparition de 50 milliards de FCFA : Bercy rétablit la vérité

The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Budget has broken its silence following rumors of the "disappearance" of 50 billion FCFA intended for local authorities. In an official statement, the authorities firmly reject these accusations, attributing them to a misinterpretation of the figures.

The technical explanation: According to the ministry, the figure of 50 billion is inaccurate. The actual difference observed between the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years amounts to 23.45 billion FCFA . This discrepancy does not stem from a loss of funds, but from a typical gap between budget forecasts (what was expected) and actual revenue (what was actually collected).

Payment status:

  1. 2024 financial year: 93.71% of the planned funds have been recovered and paid out.
  2. 2025 financial year: The payout rate has already reached 95.51%.

The ministry clarifies that transfers of funds to local authorities are strictly linked to actual tax revenues. To avoid any future confusion, quarterly allocation decrees have been implemented to adjust forecasts as closely as possible to the realities on the ground.
