Himra visé par deux plaintes pour diffamation publique
Ivorian rapper Himra is the target of two complaints for public defamation , according to information published on November 12, 2025 by the daily newspaper L'Intelligent d'Abidjan .
These complaints were filed by producer David Monsoh , following comments made by the artist in his song Yorobo Drill Acte 4. The case has been forwarded to the Public Prosecutor in Abidjan , the newspaper reports.
The passages in question are considered defamatory and homophobic , and could potentially damage the producer's reputation . David Monsoh's lawyers describe their actions as an attempt to "call for responsibility" in a musical context they believe has become "explosive."
The case is already generating reactions beyond Ivory Coast , fueling a debate on the limits of freedom of expression in urban music and the responsibility of artists in their public statements.
At this stage, neither Himra nor its representatives have officially responded to these accusations. Developments in the case will determine whether legal proceedings will be initiated in Ivorian courts.
