Côte d’Ivoire – Des cadres du PDCI convoqués à la Police criminelle : la vieille maison au cœur d’une tempête politico-judiciaire

Abidjan, October 28, 2025 — The Democratic Party of Côte d'Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA) is at the center of a new political and judicial affair. Several of its senior officials have been summoned by the Criminal Police Directorate (DPC) in Abidjan. The information, confirmed by sources close to the party, has sparked numerous reactions within the political class.

According to the documents consulted, the summons was delivered to the PDCI headquarters in Cocody on Monday, October 27, 2025. Seven executives are concerned: Noël Akossi Bendjo, Sylvestre Emmou, Georges Philippe Ezaley, Augustin Dia Houphouët Yohou, Alain Cocauthrey, Roger M'Bia and Jean Kouakou Gnrangbé. They were to report to the Criminal Police on Tuesday, October 28.

The authorities have not yet provided any specific reasons for these summonses. No official statement has been issued by either the National Police or the Ministry of Justice. The lack of explanation has fueled various interpretations, particularly within the party, where some see it as a political maneuver.

This case comes at a time of internal reorganization within the PDCI, following the death of its president Henri Konan Bédié, and the consolidation of the Common Front formed with the PPA-CI, the main opposition coalition. The summons of these officials also comes at a time when debates on governance and political pluralism remain heated.

The PDCI has not yet made any official statement. For their part, police authorities have refrained from commenting. The public is still awaiting clarification on the nature of the proceedings and the possible consequences of this summons.

Pending further clarification, this affair once again places the "old house" of the PDCI-RDA at the heart of a political and judicial storm, the outcome of which could influence the national political climate.
