Roselyne Aka-Sérikpa, Damana Adia Pickass 's lawyer , has broken her silence to address the circumstances of her client's arrest and detention in Ivory Coast. In a detailed statement, she denounced several unanswered questions surrounding the custody and the handling of the case.

According to Ms. Aka-Sérikpa, Damana Pickass was arrested in Bingerville while he was in seclusion, observing the socio-political situation in the country. The arrest, carried out by the national police in the presence of close friends, was reportedly not brutal, but the "surprise" nature of the arrest took him by surprise. The lawyer specifies that her client was not represented by a lawyer before his hearing at the DST (Directorate of Territorial Surveillance) on November 4, 2025, which led to the immediate request for the annulment of the official report drawn up that day, in accordance with the rules of criminal procedure.

Ms. Aka-Sérikpa also specified that Damana Pickass had received a medical consultation upon his arrival and that his health was being monitored by his personal physician. A joint medical examination was arranged to ensure his good health before the hearings. The lawyer asserted that her client had not been subjected to any violence or inhumane treatment , either during his arrest or while in police custody.

Following his initial appearance before the investigating judge, Damana Pickass was charged twice : once for events that occurred in Yopougon on the night of August 1-2, 2025, and again for events related to the march of October 11, 2025. However, reports are circulating that he has been transferred to the Bouaké prison camp instead of the Abidjan penitentiary, which has raised concerns among his lawyer. Attorney Aka-Sérikpa denounces this lack of transparency and emphasizes the fundamental right of a lawyer to know where their client is being held.

Finally, the lawyer wanted to reassure Damana Pickass's family and loved ones , stating that she would follow the criminal procedure with the utmost care, strictly respecting the legal rules in force.
