Côte d’Ivoire : le gouvernement Beugré Mambé démissionne, Ouattara met fin aux fonctions ministérielles
Ivory Coast is entering a new political phase following the legislative elections of December 27, 2025. In accordance with institutional practices, Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé submitted his resignation, along with that of his entire government, to the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara , who accepted it.
Following this, the Head of State signed several major decrees on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 , officially ending the functions of the current executive branch. The first decree terminates the functions of the Prime Minister, head of government, as well as those of all ministers . A second decree concerns the termination of the functions of the minister-governors of the autonomous districts . Finally, a third decree terminates the functions of the Ministers of State, Ministers, and Minister-Advisors to the Presidency of the Republic .
These decisions pave the way for a complete restructuring of the government apparatus , in a political context marked by the renewal of the National Assembly. They reflect President Ouattara's desire to adapt government action to the new configuration resulting from the legislative elections.
Pending the appointment of a new Prime Minister and the formation of a new government, Robert Beugré Mambé and the members of his team are responsible for handling current affairs , in order to ensure the continuity of the State and the proper functioning of the institutions.
This transition is being closely watched by public opinion and the political class, as strategic consultations begin for the next government team, which is called upon to define the country's political and economic priorities for the coming years.
