LE PPA-CI APPELLE AU MAINTIEN DE LA LUTTE CONTRE LE 4E MANDAT/TÉNÉ BIRAHIMA S’ADRESSE À «UNE MINORITÉ QUI S’AGITE»
The PPA-CI cabinet held a meeting this Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the party's headquarters in Attoban. According to several media outlets, this consultation took place in a particularly tense atmosphere. The newspaper Le Quotidien d'Abidjan reported the presence of "truckloads of law enforcement officers positioned around Laurent Gbagbo's office."
At the end of this meeting, the PPA-CI made a statement, according to the Quotidien d'Abidjan: "Counted 2 deaths, more than 700 arrests and many injured" following the recent demonstrations of the common front.
Also, according to the newspaper la Voie Originale: "The PPA-CI calls for the continuation of the fight against the 4th mandate."
A call relayed by the newspaper Notre Voie which has on its front page: “Gbagbo calls on Ivorians to maintain the demonstrations.”
Meanwhile, the election campaign is in full swing. The five (5) candidates in the presidential race have invaded the entire national territory to present their social project to the populations. During an RHDP meeting in Korogho, the Minister of State, Minister of Defense, Téné Birahima, sent a strong message to the opposition.
According to the headline in the Abidjan newspaper l'Intelligent: "Faced with a "minority that is agitated," Birahima Téné Ouattara promises to "manage" and reveals: "We have kept our grudges to ourselves but..." we can read.
