Le PPA-CI de Laurent Gbagbo tend la main au pouvoir pour un dialogue national

The African People's Party-Ivory Coast (PPA-CI) says it is ready to open a new chapter of discussions with the administration of Alassane Ouattara. During an interview on 7info , Ackah Emmanuel Auguste , chief of staff to Laurent Gbagbo, stressed that political dialogue is now a "historical necessity" for the stability of the nation.

The responsibility of those in power is paramount. For the former president's close associate, the impetus must come from the top. "Peace initiatives must come from those in power," he declared, recalling that Laurent Gbagbo himself had favored this approach when he was in office. The objective: to heal the wounds of a country still scarred by decades of division.

A Demand for Fair Justice: Beyond the desire for dialogue, the PPA-CI highlights areas of uncertainty, particularly the impartiality of the justice system. Ackah Emmanuel denounces a blatant imbalance between those who are prosecuted and those who claim responsibility for violence with complete impunity. For him, reconciliation cannot be achieved without equal justice for all.

A constructive but firm opposition. While Gbagbo's party advocates for de-escalation, it is not relinquishing its role as the opposition. The PPA-CI intends to continue proposing an alternative vision for the country, while calling for an end to the "demonization" of its political opponents. As its next congress approaches, this olive branch could mark a decisive turning point for the Ivorian political landscape.
