Le Sénat valide le PND 2026-2030 et ses 114 000 milliards FCFA

This is a decisive step for the economic future of Côte d'Ivoire. On Monday, April 27, 2026, in Yamoussoukro, the Senate's Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs unanimously adopted the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 . Presented by the Minister of Planning and Development, Souleymane Diarrassouba, this ambitious project sets out the country's roadmap for the next four years.

A quantified ambition: Heading towards 2030

With a total budget of 114,838.5 billion CFA francs , this plan is based on a mixed financing strategy:

  1. Private sector: 70.2% (main driver of growth).
  2. Public sector: 29.8%.

The ultimate goal: To move Côte d'Ivoire into the upper-middle-income category. The government thus plans to reach a per capita income of US$4,500 by the end of the decade.

The 6 pillars of transformation

The 2026-2030 National Development Plan is not just about numbers; it is structured around six strategic axes for structural transformation:

  1. Stability: Peace, security and social cohesion.
  2. Food sovereignty: Modernizing agriculture through 9 national agropoles .
  3. Industrialization: Boosting the private sector to transform resources locally.
  4. Human capital: Absolute priority given to education, health and social protection.
  5. Infrastructure: Continued modernization of the territory.
  6. Governance: Optimizing public management.

Priority to people and employment

Minister Diarrassouba placed particular emphasis on the social aspect. The goal is to increase the human capital index from 0.38 to 0.7 by 2030.

"This plan is the operational translation of a vision for a stable, ambitious and united nation."

The project emphasizes job creation, primarily targeting young people and women , while relying on a strengthened private sector. With its adoption by the committee, Côte d'Ivoire now enters the active phase of mobilizing its stakeholders to realize these development promises.
