The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has announced the opening of the period for receiving candidacy files for the Ivorian legislative elections. Submissions will take place from October 31 to November 12, 2025 , in accordance with Decree No. 2025-656 of July 30, 2025 , signed by the President of the Republic, convening the electoral colleges for the vote scheduled for December 27, 2025 .

These elections will take place two months after the presidential election, set for October 25, 2025.

A central role in democratic life

The members of the National Assembly represent the voice of the people. Their mission is divided into three main areas:

° Legislate , by voting on laws or proposing new ones;

° Control , ensuring the proper conduct of government action;

° Represent , by bringing the expectations and concerns of their fellow citizens to the highest level of the State.

In short, the MP is at once a legislator, guardian of public transparency and defender of the interests of his constituency.

Conditions and requirements for candidates

Candidates in constituencies with multiple seats must be submitted as a list. For constituencies with more than two seats, the law imposes a minimum quota of 30% for women , in order to strengthen gender representation in Parliament.

Furthermore, certain professional categories - notably magistrates, prefects, military personnel or directors of public establishments - must attach to their file an authorization for availability covering the duration of the mandate.

Alternates for an outgoing MP are not allowed to run against the latter in the same constituency.

To be eligible, all candidates must:

° be of Ivorian nationality ,

° be registered on the electoral roll ,

° be at least 25 years old ,

° and pay a deposit of 100,000 FCFA .

Place and terms of deposit

Application files will be received at the CEI headquarters , located in Abidjan-Cocody, Deux-Plateaux, Carrefour DUNCAN (Résidence Angoua, Route du Zoo) .

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Aspirants for a seat in the National Assembly are invited to submit their applications between October 31 and November 12, 2025 .
