The partial legislative election in constituency 204 (Massala-Dualla) kicked off on Saturday, February 21, 2026. It was at the Massala 2 school complex that the CEI supervisor for the Béré and Worodougou regions, Adja Serges Alain, officially opened the vote in the presence of the sub-prefect Kouao Bilé Kouamé.
A strong early turnout: From 8 a.m., the 4,034 registered voters began arriving at the 48 polling stations spread across the two towns. From Nandala to Kouroukoro, the high turnout demonstrated a genuine sense of civic engagement. "It's crucial to vote early to show that our voice matters," said Gaoussou Traoré, one of the first voters.
Security and transparency are on the agenda. Despite the notable absence of independent observers, the authorities are trying to reassure the public. Electoral materials are deployed and the defense forces are keeping a close watch. The sub-prefect has also urged the population to maintain this climate of "calm and discipline" until the polling stations close.
