PPA-CI : Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric prend les rênes de la Ligue des jeunes

The African People's Party – Ivory Coast (PPA-CI), the political party of former president Laurent Gbagbo, has reached a key milestone. On Thursday, June 4, 2026, its headquarters in Abidjan-Cocody hosted the first ordinary congress of its youth wing, resulting in the election of its new leader: Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric .

A competitive vote

Facing fierce competition from ten other candidates, Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric managed to stand out. Although voter turnout was moderate — 356 out of 770 registered voters — the new national secretary garnered 157 votes , thus securing 44% of the votes cast .

The career path of the new national secretary

At just 26 years old, the new head of youth for the PPA-CI already boasts a solid activist CV:

September 25, 1999: Born in Abidjan-Port-Bouët.
2014: First steps in activism as a teenager within the FESCI (Student and School Federation of Ivory Coast).
2018: Closer ties with the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI).
2022 - 2023: Field actor since the creation of the PPA-CI.
2024: Becomes the main youth leader of the party in his stronghold of Port-Bouët.

In short: With more than fifteen years of associative and political involvement to his credit, Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric has gone from local leader in Port-Bouët to a leading national figure for the youth of Laurent Gbagbo.
