The African People's Party – Ivory Coast (PPA-CI), the political party of former president Laurent Gbagbo, has reached a key milestone. On Thursday, June 4, 2026, its headquarters in Abidjan-Cocody hosted the first ordinary congress of its youth wing, resulting in the election of its new leader: Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric .
Facing fierce competition from ten other candidates, Kouamé Koffi Aimé Cédric managed to stand out. Although voter turnout was moderate — 356 out of 770 registered voters — the new national secretary garnered 157 votes , thus securing 44% of the votes cast .
