Présidentielle 2025 : Alassane Ouattara rend hommage au Président Félix Houphouët-Boigny
In the midst of the 2025 presidential election campaign, the candidate of the Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP), Alassane Ouattara, made a stop marked by solemnity and gratitude.
In a highly symbolic gesture, the Head of State paid his respects this Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the memorial of the first President of Côte d'Ivoire, Félix Houphouët-Boigny, in Yamoussoukro. "Yes, yes, we came to bow at the tomb of President Houphouët to ask for his blessing and also to tell him that Côte d'Ivoire is grateful to him for everything he has done for our country," declared a visibly moved Alassane Ouattara.
The outgoing president wanted to pay tribute to the immense work of the man he considers the founding father of the Ivorian nation.
He recalled that Houphouët-Boigny's vision of peace, unity, and development remains the compass of the RHDP and continues to inspire its governance. "We have asked him to watch over Côte d'Ivoire, to ensure that the country continues in peace and prosperity, and that he never forgets what he did for me, for all of Côte d'Ivoire," added the RHDP candidate.
