Présidentielle 2025 : Simone Ehivet Gbagbo accomplit son devoir de vote à Abidjan

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, Simone Ehivet Gbagbo, president of the Movement of Capable Generations (MGC), fulfilled her civic duty by voting at the Riviéra Golf public primary school in the commune of Cocody in Abidjan.

At 76, Ms. Gbagbo is running for president, marking a return to the political scene after several years of absence. She is one of five candidates nominated for this election, alongside Jean-Louis Billon, Ahoua Don Mello, Henriette Lagou, and incumbent President Alassane Ouattara. Notably, former President Laurent Gbagbo, her husband, was excluded from the race due to a judicial conviction, which sparked tensions and popular protests.

After voting, Simone Ehivet Gbagbo expressed her wish for peace in Côte d'Ivoire, emphasizing that this wish had been expressed at the beginning of the electoral campaign. She also called for societal change, urging citizens to participate en masse in the electoral process.
