Anyama : Trois adolescents armés de machettes interpellés
In Anyama, a violent altercation involving out-of-school youth nearly turned tragic. As part of Operation Sparrowhawk, officers from the Anyama police station arrested three teenagers armed with machetes , caught in the middle of a brawl in the Belleville neighborhood.
The suspects, all aged 17, 18 and 19 , have been identified as:
-KG, 17 years old
-BL, 18 years old
-KA, 19 years old
According to initial reports, these young people, although out of school, are regularly involved in street clashes. Today's altercation pitted groups from Abobo and Belleville against each other, in a climate of settling scores that has been intensifying for several weeks.
Alerted by an anonymous call , the police intervened quickly, ending the confrontation before it escalated. The three teenagers were disarmed and then taken to the police station .
This forceful intervention is part of the recently implemented reinforcement of night patrols. This strategy is bearing fruit: more than fifty arrests have been made in one week and the cases brought before the Abidjan Police Prefecture.
On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor at the Abobo Court , the three young people were brought before the prosecutor's office to answer for their actions.
This new episode highlights the importance of Operation Sparrowhawk in the fight against urban violence and juvenile crime, particularly in certain sensitive areas of the Abidjan District.
