Fin de l’impunité pour 1 743 cliniques illégales
The government's "Zero Illegal Clinics by 2025" operation has reached its conclusion. Between 2022 and 2025, Ivorian authorities closed 1,743 unauthorized healthcare facilities. Dr. Marie-Josèphe Bitty, Director of Private Healthcare Facilities and Professions, confirmed that the initial target was met, with 80% of the facilities identified at the outset being closed.
Beyond the closures, this campaign has facilitated the compliance of many providers: more than 1,500 clinics now operate with an official permit. To sustain these results, the government is now focusing on the digitalization of procedures, agreements with the national health insurance system (CMU), and increased local oversight.
