Audiovisuel : Thinktank Media prend les rênes de la mesure d’audience en Côte d’Ivoire

The High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) officially signed the agreement on Monday, March 30, 2026, entrusting the national audience measurement to the Ivorian firm Thinktank Media. This partnership marks the return of a reliable regulatory framework after a period of uncertainty in the sector.

The HACA headquarters in Angré (Abidjan) served as the venue for the formalization of this collaboration between René Bourgouin, president of the institution, and Aly Berté, CEO of Thinktank Media. Selected from among five bidders following a call for tenders launched on February 18th, the Ivorian firm impressed the jury with the strength of its technical and operational expertise.

A strategic issue for the advertising market

For René Bourgouin, audience measurement is not just a simple statistical tool; it is the economic lifeblood of the sector.

  1. For advertisers: It guarantees a fair allocation of advertising budgets.
  2. For the media: It allows for the evaluation of program performance.
  3. For the regulator: It ensures transparency and sustainable structuring of the market.
"Our priority was to re-establish, as quickly as possible, a credible framework after the interruption of the previous system," stressed the president of the HACA, referring to "shortcomings" that led to the termination of the contract with the former operator.

National expertise in the spotlight

Thinktank Media's choice also reflects a desire to promote national champions . Mr. René Bourgouin emphasized that Ivorian skills now meet the most demanding international standards.

For his part, Aly Berté reaffirmed his firm's commitment to producing "unquestionable and useful data for all." With recognized experience in media planning and data analysis in West Africa, he bases his mission on three key values:

  1. Rigorous collection process.
  2. Integrity in the treatment.
  3. Transparency in the dissemination of results.

Rebuilding trust

This agreement puts an end to a period of uncertainty that was weakening the Ivorian media ecosystem. By entrusting this mission to Thinktank Media, the HACA is relying on a system capable of adapting to technological changes and the new consumption habits of Ivorians.

"Major transformations are built over time and with trust," concluded Aly Berté, calling on all media professionals to embrace this new tool and make it a lever for collective progress.
