Côte d’Ivoire : trafic de drogue démantelé à Guiglo, 5 kg de cannabis et de la cocaïne saisis
A major anti-drug operation was carried out on Monday, November 10, 2025 , in Koussi Yaokro , a town in the Guiglo department of western Côte d'Ivoire. The operation, conducted by the regional branch of the Directorate of Narcotics and Drugs (DPSD) as part of Operation Sparrowhawk , resulted in the seizure of 5 kilograms of cannabis , 19 grams of cocaine , and 38 Tramaking tablets , according to a statement from the National Police Directorate .
During the operation, two individuals were arrested: OML , aged 33, and NKA , aged 41. The search also uncovered a homemade shotgun along with six 12-gauge cartridges .
The suspects were immediately handed over to the competent authorities for further legal proceedings. The DPSD reiterates that these actions are part of the ongoing efforts of the Ivorian security forces to combat drug trafficking and organized crime .
