At the heart of the concerns are prices deemed unstable and sometimes high , particularly during periods of high demand. To address this, the authorities plan to establish a technical committee tasked with proposing new regulations tailored to market realities.
Among the options being considered are capping the commissions charged by platforms , establishing a minimum price , and regulating dynamic pricing , which is often criticized by users.
The government also wants to impose more transparency in pricing mechanisms , particularly with regard to the algorithms used by applications.
Another innovation under consideration is the creation of an official comparator , which would allow users to better evaluate available offers and choose the most advantageous options.
This reform is part of a broader effort to better organize a rapidly expanding sector , while ensuring fairer prices for customers and better income conditions for drivers .
If adopted, this new regulation could mark a significant turning point in the balance between digital platforms, drivers and consumers in Ivory Coast .
