Lakota : un camion chargé de régimes de palme se renverse en pleine chaussée après une panne de freins
A traffic accident occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at around 2 p.m. in the city of Lakota, involving a dump truck carrying bunches of palm kernels and a Peugeot passenger car.
According to eyewitness accounts, the truck, having reached the top of the main hill near the gendarmerie brigade, reportedly experienced a brake failure. The vehicle then rolled backward down the slope, becoming uncontrollable.
In an attempt to avoid a more serious accident, the driver swerved sharply, hitting the front right side of the Peugeot vehicle driven by Coulibaly Moussa, head nurse at the Lakota Urban Health Center (CSU).
The force of the impact caused the cargo of palm fruit bunches to spill onto the car's windshield and a significant portion of the roadway. Despite the scale of the incident, no fatalities or injuries were reported.
Unbalanced during the maneuver, the dump truck eventually overturned onto its left side, causing a traffic disruption in the area.
Alerted, the National Police quickly intervened to secure the perimeter, carry out the usual procedures and establish alternating traffic until around 6 p.m., the time needed to completely clear the road.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.
