Lakota : Vandalisme et attaque au village de Brihiri
The village of Brihiri, in the sub-prefecture of Gagoré, was the target of a violent incursion carried out by unidentified individuals on the night of Sunday 9 to Monday 10 November 2025.
The incident began around 2 a.m. when the assailants stormed into the town, plunging residents into panic. Their actions focused on the electrical infrastructure , resulting in the destruction of 11 electricity meters .
The home of the head of the Yépoparehoin neighborhood, Mr. Tegui Tougnon , was also specifically targeted. Even more seriously, an assassination attempt was reportedly reported by witnesses among the local population. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured.
Shocked by the attack, the residents of Brihiri are making an urgent appeal to the authorities. They are demanding an immediate strengthening of security measures in the area to prevent future violence.
This event comes in an already tense context. AIP notes that another major incident occurred in the same village on October 25, where a young protester from Gagoré died in circumstances related to the recent presidential election.
