The Emergency Medical Assistance Service (SAMU) is strengthening its management system to better meet the needs of the population. From October 9 to 10, 2025, the SAMU management organized two training days in Abidjan for department heads, focusing on the theme: "Management Concepts and Concepts for Organizational Performance."
This initiative is part of the institution's desire to place populations at the heart of its management policy, by combining medical efficiency and organizational excellence. In other words, it is no longer just a matter of ensuring emergency medical care, but also of strengthening the quality of service through modern and participatory management.
The director of SAMU, Dr. Évariste Chatigré, reiterated the essential missions of his organization: "We intervene in the pre-hospital phase, outside of healthcare facilities. To maintain our performance and meet new challenges, it is essential to constantly improve our skills and working methods."
Supervised by the Virus Management firm, headed by Mamadou Samassi, this training provided managers with the tools to understand the principles of results-oriented management. According to the trainer, "competitiveness and performance today require a paradigm shift: innovation, creating a climate of trust, promoting cross-functional skills, and generating added value at every stage of the process."
At the end of these two days, the participants left better equipped to drive a dynamic of collaborative leadership within their departments. This represents a further step toward the increased professionalization of SAMU, a central player in medical emergency management in Côte d'Ivoire.
Through this proactive approach, the SAMU confirms its desire to be not only a model of operational efficiency, but also a modern administration, centered on people and the quality of the service provided.
