Faced with a surge in dangerous driving behavior and with the legislative elections approaching (scheduled for December 27, 2025), the Directorate General of Land Transport and Traffic (DGTTC) has decided to take decisive action. It has announced significant penalties for drivers involved in serious traffic violations.
On Thursday, November 27, 2025, the DGTTC (Directorate General of Traffic and Traffic) analyzed 42 cases of dangerous driving. The verdict was unequivocal: 35 driver's licenses were suspended or revoked .

In total, these incidents caused a heavy human toll, with 18 deaths and 24 injuries , according to information released by the Special Driving Commission.
The DGTTC detailed the nature of the sanctions taken, emphasizing the government's commitment to showing total firmness in the face of road insecurity:
"Sanctions range from 3 to 5 months for 31 licenses permanently revoked from their holders, 4 with a 3-month suspended sentence and reinstatement, while 5 cases of absence were recorded. Strong decisions to demonstrate the government's firm stance against road accidents."
The reprehensible behaviors cited include, among others, speeding (including on busy urban roads), running red lights , reckless driving , and dangerous overtaking . These are all behaviors that endanger citizens' lives on a daily basis.
This wave of sanctions serves as a reminder of the urgent need to respect the Highway Code and the commitment of the authorities to strengthen controls to ensure a safer road environment.
