On Friday, March 13, 2026, the city of Daloa was the scene of a major operation against road insecurity. Members of the national gendarmerie's road brigade deployed a large-scale control operation in the Tazibouo district, targeting the strategic road leading to Bouaflé.

A statistical overview: more than 100 vehicles inspected

The operation, which aimed to establish strict discipline on the roads of Haut-Sassandra, allowed for the inspection of a large number of road users:

1. 76 four-wheeled vehicles and more.
2. 36 two- and three-wheeled vehicles .

Zero tolerance for serious offences

The police noted numerous shortcomings, ranging from administrative oversights to dangerous behavior. A few emblematic cases stood out during the day:

1. Speeding and driving without a license: A motorist was found to be both speeding and driving without a valid license. The immediate penalty was that the vehicle was impounded.
2. Lack of insurance: Three cases have been identified, resulting in the immobilization of vehicles.
3. Reckless driving: A driver was caught red-handed using his mobile phone in front of officers.

Two-wheelers in the crosshairs

The safety of motorcyclists, often more vulnerable, received particular attention. Five motorcycles were impounded for lack of helmets and licenses. Other tickets were issued for lack of insurance, serving as a reminder that personal protective equipment and legal compliance are non-negotiable.

Note: The fines collected during this operation will be paid in full to the Public Treasury of Daloa.

Beyond enforcement, the gendarmerie emphasizes that the road is a space of shared responsibility. The ultimate goal remains a drastic reduction in the number of accidents in the region.
