On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Sita Diallo library in Tengrela resonated with the rhythm of female success. The association Jeunes en Action pour le Développement (JADE) organized a formal ceremony there to present certificates of completion to 50 female participants from the Tengrela Women's Literacy Center (CAFET) .

A comprehensive program for genuine emancipation

More than just literacy training, this project—supported by the Save the Children , CERAP , and Social Justice consortium—offers a genuine survival kit for modern women in rural areas. Over four months, beneficiaries from Danzourou and Sokoura completed level 2 of their training.

Under the technical supervision of CAD expert Seni, the curriculum incorporated practical and civic skills:

1. Daily management: Calculation, entrepreneurship and sales techniques.
2. Health and society: Family planning, combating gender-based violence (GBV) and leadership.
3. Digital: Using WhatsApp and managing phone calls.

Concrete victories over isolation

For Coulibaly Aly Badra, president of JADE, these skills are weapons against poverty. Knowing how to dial a number or manage one's small business independently constitutes a "significant victory".

"This training has allowed me to gain autonomy in my daily life," testified Bamba Nahannienigué , top of his class, with emotion.

For his part, Sylla Sogona took advantage of the platform to launch a vibrant plea in the local language, urging families to educate young girls and women to no longer fear training.

Aiming for the primary school leaving certificate (CEPE) in 2027

The adventure doesn't end there. Building on this success, the JADE association aims to open new centers as early as next fall. The objective is ambitious: to support these women until they obtain their CEPE (Certificate of Primary Education) in 2027 , thus permanently transforming the social landscape of the department.

Focus on youth: Philosophy in the spotlight

The event also celebrated academic excellence. Alongside the certificate presentation, JADE recognized the three winners of its philosophical essay competition . This initiative aims to prepare high school seniors for the demands of the Baccalaureate exam, demonstrating the association's commitment to leveraging all educational resources to develop the region.
