A drug trafficking operation has been successful in Sehably (Dania sub-prefecture). During the night of February 17-18, 2026 , members of the Daloa mobile squadron put an end to the illicit activities of GJ , a 36-year-old farmer who had turned to selling cannabis.

The trap closes at home

Acting on precise intelligence, the gendarmerie opted for an infiltration strategy. Plainclothes officers went to the suspect's home posing as customers.

The scenario unfolded without a hitch:

1. The order: The "clients" request a large quantity of drugs.
2. Overzealousness: Not having all the stock immediately, GJ rushes to her room to gather everything she owns.
3. Caught red-handed: It was at the moment of concluding the transaction that the officers revealed their identity, proceeding with his immediate arrest.

A thorough search of the premises led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs:

1. A cannabis tile .
2. Forty meatballs already packaged for sale.
3. A large stock of bulk cannabis.

"Selling to survive": The suspect's confession

Transferred to the mobile squadron base in Daloa, GJ confessed during her interrogation. She attempted to justify her actions by claiming she needed to provide for her financial needs.

She was handed over to the Anti-Drug Unit (CAD) in Daloa . The investigation is now continuing to trace the supply chain, identify its suppliers and any possible accomplices in the Haut-Sassandra region.
