The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed on Thursday, November 7, the final list of 13 nominees for the prestigious "Goal of the Year" award at the CAF Awards 2025. This highly prized award recognizes the most beautiful goal scored during African competitions between January 6 and October 15, 2025.

Morocco stands out in particular with three representatives among the finalists:

1. Abdellah Ouzzane : Nominated for his exceptional goal against Tanzania during the U17 AFCON.
2. Oussama Lamlioui : Selected for his decisive strike against Madagascar at CHAN 2024.
3. Ghizlane Chebbak : Honored for her masterful performance against Nigeria during the 2024 Women's AFCON.

The Public at the Heart of the Vote

After a selection made by an independent technical committee, the final decision rests largely with the supporters.

The ballot is open from November 6 to 12, 2025 on the platforms CAFOnline.com and cafawardsgoty.com .

The final result will be determined by a specific weighting:

1. 70% of the votes will come from the public vote .
2. 30% will be provided by a panel of technical experts from the CAF.

The "Goal of the Year" award is one of the few CAF Awards trophies to directly involve fans, celebrating not only performance, but also the emotion and creativity of African football.

The winner will be announced at the grand CAF Awards 2025 ceremony, which will also crown the best players, coaches, national teams and clubs on the continent.
