CAF : Samuel Eto’o suspendu quatre matchs et sanctionné financièrement
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed Samuel Eto'o , president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) , a four-match ban from official matches . The continental body also imposed a fine of US$20,000 .
The decision follows events that occurred during a match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations , during which the CAF believes that the Cameroonian official adopted behavior contrary to disciplinary rules , particularly with regard to the referee and officials.
According to the terms of the sanction, Samuel Eto'o is banned from stadiums and official areas during the four matches covered by the measure. The suspension applies to CAF competitions involving Cameroon.
FECAFOOT has taken note of the decision and indicated that it is studying the legal avenues of appeal provided for in the regulations , without any further immediate comment on the substance of the case.
This sanction comes amid heightened tension surrounding refereeing issues in continental competitions and could have organizational repercussions for Cameroon's representation in upcoming CAF competition matches for the Indomitable Lions .
