CAN 2025 : Le Cameroun domine l’Afrique du Sud (2-1) et se qualifie pour le prochain tour
Cameroon beat South Africa 2-1 on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, after an intense and hard-fought match.
The Indomitable Lions opened the scoring in the 34th minute thanks to Junior Tchamadeu , who capitalized on a good attacking move to beat the South African goalkeeper. Cameroon thus took the lead before halftime.
Upon returning from the locker room, the Cameroonians quickly extended their lead. In the 47th minute, Christian Kofane scored the second goal, putting his team in a comfortable position.
South Africa did respond late in the game. In the 88th minute, Evidence Makgopa pulled a goal back, briefly reviving the suspense, but ultimately failed to turn the tide.
Cameroon remained solid until the final whistle, preserving their lead. Thanks to this victory, the Indomitable Lions qualify for the next round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations , confirming their ambitions in the competition.
