CAN 2025 : les Éléphants galvanisés par le message du Président Ouattara
The Ivory Coast Elephants received significant support.
On Friday, January 1, 2026, the Minister Delegate in charge of Sports, Silas Adjé Metch, visited the national team and its staff at their hotel in Marrakech.
He carried a clear message: the encouragement of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, and the entire government.
Speaking to the players, the minister stressed the importance of continuing the competition.
The group stage is over. Now it's time for the knockout matches.
“Every match is a final. The round of 16 is a final. The quarter-final too. The semi-final as well. And of course, the final,” he reminded everyone.
A strong message, well received by the players and the technical staff.
All praised the constant support of the head of state and the government.
Having qualified for the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted in Morocco, Ivory Coast will face Burkina Faso.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday at 7pm GMT, at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.
Meanwhile, the first matches of the round of 16, played on Saturday, have already delivered their verdicts.
Senegal and Mali have secured their place in the quarter-finals.
