FIF 2026 : Souleymane Cissé officialise sa candidature pour septembre prochain
The race for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) for September 2026 is heating up. After the current president Yacine Idriss Diallo , a new contender has emerged: Souleymane Cissé , president of Racing Club d'Abidjan (RCA), has formally announced his candidacy.
A prominent figure in local football, Souleymane Cissé intends to bring a new dynamic to the governance of Ivorian football. His announcement comes several months before the election, a sign of his desire to structure his project and alliances well in advance.
The RCA president already enjoys public support. Among them are presidents Issa Ouattara and Amza Gamal, the latter publicly declaring: "I stand by my position behind President Cissé. He is someone who knows football… The most important thing is the ballot box. We will do everything possible to be in charge, even if it will be difficult for us."
While Souleymane Cissé's candidacy marks a new stage in the lead-up to the election, the battle promises to be open and strategic. The coming weeks should allow the various camps to refine their platforms and consolidate their support, in a context where the governance of Ivorian football remains a major issue for clubs and stakeholders in the sector.
