Abidjan vibrates to the rhythm of the Basketball Africa League (BAL)!
The qualifiers for the prestigious continental competition begin this Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. at the Palais des Sports in Treichville.
In front of their home crowd, the national champion, Jeunesse Club d'Abidjan (JCA Kings) , embarks on a crucial mission: to secure their place in the Elite 16 phase.
Three matches, two tickets for qualification
For three intense days, the Ivorian team is engaged in a real battle. In this single-group tournament, the JCA Kings will face successively the Spintex Knights of Ghana , the Oilers of Liberia and the Élan Coton of Benin . At the end of this series of matches, only the two best teams will obtain their precious sesame for the next stage.
The stakes are high for JCA, the sole representative of Côte d'Ivoire in this preliminary round. Determined to win on home soil, the team approaches the competition with a clear ambition: to prove that Ivorian basketball can compete with the continent's best teams. The goal is not only to qualify for the Elite 16, but also to excite and enthrall the local crowd.
The BAL, the new face of African basketball
Born from a historic partnership between the NBA and FIBA Africa , the Basketball Africa League is much more than just a competition. It brings together the continent's elite clubs and symbolizes the growth and professionalization of African basketball.
For JCA Kings, this qualifying campaign is a golden opportunity to establish a lasting position on the continental scene and to make history in Ivorian sport.
