The National Technical Centre in Bingerville was buzzing this weekend with the first edition of the Midelli Cup 2026. Between popular enthusiasm and technical revelations, this inaugural tournament lived up to all its promises, establishing itself immediately as an essential crossroads for youth football in Ivory Coast.

A tough road to the title

The road to the final was anything but easy for the future champions. In the semi-final, Olympique Sport d'Abobo (OSA) had to summon all their nerves against COBA FC. After a 1-1 draw, the team led by President Hamza Gamal secured their place in the final in a nail-biting penalty shootout (6-5).

On the other side of the table, the duel between Elyshama and Avenir Pro FC offered a high-flying offensive spectacle (2-2), before seeing Elyshama prevail, once again, in the fateful penalty shootout (6-5).

A one-sided final

While the semi-finals were close, the final turned into a demonstration of strength. Superior tactically and physically, the OSA players of Abobo outclassed Elyshama with a resounding 5-1 victory. This authoritative win allows OSA to etch its name in gold at the top of the competition's record books.

Despite his team's defeat, young Ismaël Diabaté (Avenir Pro FC) impressed everyone with his technical skill, leaving with the trophy for best player of the tournament .
