Laurent Nuñez announced on Thursday that 127 people were arrested in the Paris region, eleven were injured, one seriously, and 23 police officers were slightly injured, during incidents in the capital after PSG qualified for the Champions League final on Wednesday.

PSG's qualification, which saw them eliminate Bayern Munich (1-1 after a 5-4 first-leg victory), led to unrest and tensions in Paris that evening. "127 people were arrested in the greater Paris area, including 107 in Paris itself. Eleven people were injured, one seriously, by a firework mortar," the police prefect stated on CNews and Europe 1, adding that he "strongly condemns" these incidents.

When questioned by AFP, the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed that it had been notified late at night of "around one hundred arrests, notably for participation in a group with a view to committing violence, for possession of pyrotechnic devices, for violence and for damage by fire".

"At this stage, a few damaged vehicles have been reported," the prosecutor's office stated, emphasizing that these "figures obviously still need to be consolidated."

For the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest, Laurent Nuñez warned that law enforcement would demonstrate "the same firmness" as on Wednesday evening. He stated that there would be "systematic interventions" and that "no disturbances will be tolerated."

He praised the police response on Wednesday evening in Paris and promised that there would be a large-scale operation on May 30.

The prefect expressed concern about the "unilateral" announcement by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire that a fan zone would be set up that evening. "Generally," he added, "we discuss this with the police prefect beforehand. That wasn't the case. We'll have to see where this fan zone will be organized."
