The OD Taekwondo Tafiré Association made a strong impression at the World Taekwondo G1 Open, held on July 4th and 5th, 2026 in Montargis, France. The Ivorian club returned home with a silver medal, marking a historic first in sports inclusion.

According to information provided by the club's technical director, Moïse Touré Sié Clofolo, this high-level international competition brought together 42 teams from around twenty countries.

A historic participation for African taekwondo

The highlight of the tournament was the performance of Ouattara Pingué Aliman . Competing under the banner of the Ivory Coast Federation of Deaf Sports (FSSCI), the athlete defied expectations by facing the three-time French champion in the under 46 kg category, Valentine Dupré.

Although the fight ended in defeat, her mere presence on the mat constitutes an achievement: she becomes the very first deaf African taekwondo athlete to participate in a World Taekwondo G1 competition alongside able-bodied athletes .

“This participation represents a significant step forward for the inclusion of people with disabilities in high-level sport. It opens up new perspectives for deaf taekwondo athletes across the African continent,” Moïse Touré Sié Clofolo proudly emphasized.

Money to confirm excellence

The Tafiré club also shone in terms of results thanks to Tallo Ogbalé Ruth . By winning a remarkable silver medal , the athlete demonstrated the competitiveness and quality of the training provided within the association.

An honor for the Hambol region and Ivory Coast

The technical director was full of praise for his two protégées, recalling that these results reward fundamental work focused on the supervision of young people and the promotion of sporting excellence.

“We extend our sincere congratulations to Ouattara Pingué Aliman and Tallo Ogbalé Ruth for their courage, determination and commitment. They bring renown to our association, the FSSCI and to the whole of Côte d'Ivoire,” he rejoiced.

Through this double success, both on a human and sporting level, the OD Taekwondo Tafiré Association consolidates its leading role in the Hambol region for the promotion of sport, youth and social integration.
