Triplé Exaltant de Lewandowski : Le Barça Réduit l'Écart après le Faux Pas du Real Madrid
Robert Lewandowski led the charge for FC Barcelona with a spectacular hat-trick, enabling the Blaugrana to defeat Celta Vigo 4-2 and capitalize on Real Madrid's frustrating draw against Rayo Vallecano. The gap between the league leaders and their closest rivals is now reduced to just three points, reigniting the La Liga title race.
The Polish striker, celebrating his return to form after an early-season injury, spearheaded Hansi Flick's team on Sunday. His resounding performance not only secured three points for Barça but also propelled the team back into second place in the standings.
In a match described by Lewandowski himself as "one of the craziest" of the season, Barça had a turbulent first half, where the two teams traded blows.
The second half, more controlled, saw Lewandowski complete his masterpiece in the 73rd minute with an unstoppable header from a corner, again from Rashford.
"After his injury, I see a different Robert Lewandowski: he's positive, he came back very quickly," said coach Hansi Flick . "For him, for his confidence, it's fantastic to score three goals today."
This hat trick brings the 37-year-old striker's tally to seven goals in just four league starts . However, Barça finished the match with ten men after Frenkie de Jong was sent off late in the game for two yellow cards.
“Vigo is always a difficult ground for us, but now the points gap with Real Madrid has narrowed,” explained Lewandowski, who feels ready for what’s next: “Flick asked me if I needed rest and I said no… I felt very good physically today and I’m very happy.”
A few hours earlier, Real Madrid had conceded a 0-0 draw away to Rayo Vallecano in an intense Madrid derby.
Despite a few chances for Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso's team ran into a well-organized home defense that managed to neutralize the influence of key players like Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior . Rayo Vallecano's goalkeeper, Augusto Batalla, was particularly decisive against Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.
This result marks a second consecutive match without a win for Real Madrid, following their defeat in the Champions League against Liverpool.
"It's November, the season is long. We need to be demanding of ourselves, but also remain measured," commented coach Xabi Alonso , insisting on the need to continue to progress.
Real Madrid remain top of the table, but Barça's success brings tension back to the top of the standings before the international break.
