A major motorcycle theft ring was dismantled by the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) of Aboisso, following an operation carried out on the night of February 12-13, 2026.

A series of thefts that has alarmed residents

That night, several residents woke up to a nasty surprise: two tricycles and two motorcycles had mysteriously disappeared. Alerted, the BRI (Research and Intervention Brigade) immediately launched an investigation as part of Operation Sparrowhawk 11.

Motorized patrols, discreet intelligence, and cross-referencing of information allow investigators to gradually trace the perpetrators.

The network is falling apart piece by piece

The first suspect arrested was a 28-year-old man known as "Nakata," quickly identified as a member of a network specializing in the theft and resale of motorcycles. His confession led investigators to an accomplice, at whose home two motorcycles were discovered, along with forged customs documents.

The investigation then moved on to a third suspect, presented as the group's forger. According to initial findings, he allegedly produced hundreds of counterfeit customs documents intended to facilitate the resale of stolen vehicles.

Thanks to these revelations, four other clients of the network were identified and then arrested for document fraud and falsification.

The head of the network was arrested in Koumi

The manhunt ended around 5 p.m. in Koumi with the arrest of OD, alias "Djakiss", presented as the head of the network and involved in the theft of two additional motorcycles.

The motorcycles stolen on the night of February 12-13 were found in the possession of the suspects, allowing the victims to formally identify their vehicles.

Operation summary

In total, the operation carried out by the BRI in Aboisso resulted in:

-the arrest of 8 members of the network

-the seizure of 7 motorcycles

-the recovery of a computer and its accessories

-the discovery of several forged Customs documents



The suspects will now have to answer for their actions before the public prosecutor. This operation gives hope to the victims and sends a strong message against motorcycle theft in the region.
