Côte d’Ivoire : le Procureur dénonce une tentative d’attentat contre la société FOXTROT à Jacqueville
The Public Prosecutor at the Abidjan Court of First Instance issued a statement on October 24, 2025, regarding an attempted arson attack that occurred during the night of October 23-24 at the Foxtrot company site in Avagou, in the commune of Jacqueville. According to the statement, unidentified individuals attempted to set fire to the gas transfer chamber of this company, which operates in a highly strategic sector for the national economy.
The Public Prosecutor's Office describes this act as terrorist and particularly serious. It states that these events take place in a context of unrest marked by illegal gatherings and various acts of vandalism observed since the banning of a political march on October 11, 2025.
The prosecutor commends the promptness of the defense and security forces, whose intervention helped avert potentially disastrous consequences. He reaffirms the determination of the Ivorian justice system to prosecute all perpetrators, accomplices, and sponsors of these acts, in accordance with the law.
Two days before the presidential election on October 25, this communication from the Public Prosecutor's Office appears to be a message of appeasement but also of firmness, recalling that the protection of critical infrastructure remains an absolute priority for the State and that no one is above the law.
