France : Paris recommande à ses ressortissants de quitter temporairement le Mali
Paris, November 7, 2025 – Faced with a worrying security situation, the French government recommends that its citizens leave Mali temporarily “as soon as possible .” This measure applies to French citizens still in the country, who are encouraged to use the remaining available commercial flights .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly advises against all travel by land due to frequent terrorist attacks on national roads . These risks affect both major highways and rural areas, where ambushes and explosions are regularly reported.
According to the official statement, this recommendation aims to protect French nationals in a country where insecurity persists despite the efforts of local forces. The ministry reiterates that Mali remains classified as a “red zone ,” meaning that all travel there is strongly discouraged, except for essential reasons.
