Operation "Road Sentinel": The Ivorian National Gendarmerie, through its Road Safety Group (GSR), removed a heavily loaded truck from the road. The reason? Tires in an advanced state of disrepair that posed an imminent danger.

On Friday, December 5, 2025, on the Siempurgo-Boundiali road, gendarmerie teams intercepted a semi-trailer truck traveling with heavily worn tires. This operation, conducted as part of the national "Road Sentinel" campaign, aims to strengthen road safety in Côte d'Ivoire.

The danger of mechanical failures: Authorities remind us that the condition of vehicles is a major factor in traffic accidents in Ivory Coast.
Intensified checks: Under the leadership of General Apallo Alexandre, targeted checks are being intensified to track down dangerous vehicles.
Safety measure: In order to prevent any immediate resumption of traffic, the police removed the parts deemed dangerous.

The Ministry of Transport is clear: the truck will remain stopped. It will only be allowed to resume its journey once the defective tires have been replaced, thus guaranteeing the safety of all road users.
