Gabon : Émotion nationale après le meurtre du jeune Pascal Cameron ; Brice Oligui Nguema promet une justice implacable
There is widespread grief in Gabon following the grim discovery of the body of 13-year-old Pascal Cameron, who had been missing since December 18. The teenager, a 9th-grade student, had left his home in Nzeng-Ayong for a simple errand before disappearing without a trace. His body was finally found in a pit on Monday, December 22.
In response to this tragedy that has shaken public opinion, the President of the Transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, addressed the nation on December 23rd to express his solidarity with the bereaved families. Describing the loss of a child as "an irreparable wound for the Republic," the Head of State announced that four suspects had already been arrested and taken into custody.
The president reiterated his determination to get to the bottom of this affair: "The state will show no mercy to those who prey on our children." He emphasized that the safety of young people remains an absolute priority for the government.
