Agadez, Niger – The President of the Republic and Head of State, General Abdourahamane Tiani , reached Agadez, capital of Aïr, on the evening of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, marking a new major step in his tour of Niger.

The arrival of General Tiani was met with popular enthusiasm and a triumphant welcome . Administrative officials, traditional chiefs, and local religious dignitaries mobilized to greet the Head of State.

The fervor was palpable: the presidential motorcade had great difficulty progressing amidst a veritable sea of people , punctuated by traditional ululations, the biyanou and a concert of car horns, until it reached his temporary residence.

Direct contact with the people

Traveling by land, President Tiani was keen to maintain direct contact with the citizens. Leaving the Tahoua region for Agadez, he made numerous impromptu stops along the way to meet the crowds who had come out to greet him. This practice was repeated as soon as he entered the Agadez region.

General Tiani got out of his vehicle to greet the crowd, demonstrating a desire to establish a close relationship and recognition with his compatriots.

The last stop in the Tahoua region took place in Tamaya, where the governor, Colonel-Major Souleymane Amadou Moussa, formally took leave of the delegation.

Objectives of the visit

This in-depth tour of the country, conducted by road, is part of an effort to directly gather the concerns of the population . It also allows General Tiani to see firsthand the state of the road infrastructure and to discuss crucial issues for the nation with local stakeholders.
