The political landscape of the Hadjer-Lamis province has been shaken by a radical decision. By a decree signed on April 3, 2026 , the prefect of the Ngoura department, Dr. Ley-Ngardigal Djimadoum , officially suspended the mayor of the commune, Adoum Mahamat Adoum .

The mystery of the 170 million from the Djarmaya refinery

One of the most critical points concerns the use of public funds. The report highlights blatant irregularities, notably the lack of transparency surrounding a 170 million FCFA subsidy paid in 2023 by the Djarmaya refinery. Despite this financial windfall, no concrete impact has been observed on the ground to improve the daily lives of the citizens.

A neglected city

The contrast is striking between the revenue collected (taxes, fees, subsidies) and the state of the city:

1. Chronic unsanitary conditions: Lack of roads and stagnant water promoting disease.
