Région du Poro : 3 500 femmes s'engagent pour l'éducation des filles et les droits de l'enfant
At the initiative of Minister Fidèle Gboroton Sarassoro, President of the Regional Council, the first edition of the Poro Mother's Day took on a highly social dimension on Saturday, July 11, 2026. More than a simple celebration, this gathering of 3,500 women — including 2,400 wives of traditional chiefs — marked the starting point of a vast community awareness campaign.
Minister Fidèle Gboroton Sarassoro took advantage of this historic mobilization to entrust a crucial mission to the wives of traditional chiefs. As pillars of their communities, they are called upon to become key opinion leaders to promote:
Minister of State Anne Désirée Ouloto, representing First Lady Dominique Ouattara (the event's patron), praised an approach that places women at the center of local development.
She firmly appealed to the population regarding two regional emergencies:
“Guaranteeing every child the right to education and an administrative identity must be the absolute priority of Poro families.” – Anne Désirée Ouloto, Minister of State.
The success of this first edition also rests on the synergy and unity of the region's leaders. A heartfelt tribute was paid to the First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, for her ongoing social initiatives in the north of the country.
