Affaire « Coup du Marteau » : la justice frappe fort, la Team Paiya fait suspendre le tube de la CAN
The legal saga surrounding the song "Coup du Marteau" has taken a major turn. Team Paiya has just won its first victory against Tamsir, the song's arranger, in a dispute stemming from the sharing of revenue generated by this hit, which has become the unofficial anthem of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
After amicable discussions failed, Team Paiya took legal action, claiming they had been excluded from the financial benefits of the project, despite it being a collaborative effort. According to some reports, very large sums were allegedly pocketed by Tamsir without being distributed to the other contributors.
In a ruling issued on December 24, 2025, the Abidjan Court of First Instance ordered the immediate suspension of the song's distribution on all audio and video platforms , finding that the situation infringed upon the economic rights of Team Paiya. The judge noted in particular that the work had been registered solely in Tamsir's name, without compensation for the other artists involved.
This decision, made in the midst of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, represents a symbolic and legal setback. The case has now been referred to the trial judge, where the recognition of each party's work and the final outcome of this closely followed affair in the music industry will be determined.
