Gouvernance électorale : La CELD-CI s'allie au CNDH pour une meilleure inclusion des femmes
The Ivorian Citizens' NGO Committed to Leadership and Democracy (CELD-CI) is launching an offensive for gender equality. A delegation from the organization, led by its president, Bégou Marie Flore, was received in audience on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) . Their objective: to obtain the institution's support in demanding greater representation of women in future electoral bodies.
This initiative follows the government's recent announcement regarding the new structure of electoral governance bodies. For CELD-CI, this represents a crucial opportunity to align Côte d'Ivoire with its commitments to gender parity.
“We are seeking the support of the CNDH for a united advocacy [...]. We will have to take into account the quota of 30% representation of women, both in the decision-making bodies and in the administrations of these three electoral bodies,” stressed Ms. Bégou Marie Flore.
In response to this request, the president of the CNDH, Dr. Christian Arnaud Adjélou , praised this exemplary civic initiative. He reaffirmed his institution's unwavering commitment to defending human rights and equal opportunities.
The CNDH has thus committed to actively supporting this advocacy effort. The institution will ensure that the principles of participation and inclusion, enshrined in national and international texts, are rigorously respected within future electoral structures.
